The Richard Mille RM 52-01 Skull in Pink and Black is an aggressive fusion of memento mori symbolism and avant-garde horology. This striking edition contrasts a dark, high-tech black TZP ceramic or carbon nanotube case with the vivid brilliance of pink rubies or rose gold accents. At its heart, the hand-sculpted skull—often encrusted with pink gemstones—serves as the movement’s actual baseplate and bridges, with the upper and lower jaws cradling the tourbillon ruby. Suspended by four “bone” bridges that mimic a pirate’s ensign, the skeletonised calibre RM052 appears to float within the case, creating a dramatic sense of depth.
