Dazzling and undeniably arresting, the diamond-set Patek Philippe reference 5071 is a triumph of haute joaillerie and mechanical mastery. Reserved exclusively for the manufacture’s most important clients and produced only upon special request, this extraordinary chronograph represents one of the most opulent creations ever to leave the ateliers of Patek Philippe.
The white gold case, measuring an impressive 42mm, is lavishly set with impeccably matched baguette-cut diamonds totaling approximately 11.55 carats. Beyond the bezel, the meticulous gem-setting extends to the case sides, between the lugs, across the top of the lugs, and even onto the deployant buckle—an undertaking of remarkable technical difficulty and time-intensive craftsmanship. The black dial is further elevated by nine brilliant-cut diamonds set in chatons, creating a striking contrast of fire and depth.
Powering the reference 5071 is the revered Lemania-based caliber CH 27-70. Together with its sister reference 5070, it represents the final generation of Patek Philippe chronographs to house this historic movement before the brand transitioned to fully in-house calibers with the reference 5170.
Produced in extremely limited numbers, with research indicating only eight examples known and just four ever appearing at auction—this reference stands among the rarest modern Patek Philippe chronographs. Accompanied by its original accessories, it presents a remarkable opportunity to acquire one of the most impressive and visually commanding chronograph wristwatches ever created by the maison.
