The Richard Mille RM030 was the result of 4 years of research and testing, the RM030 introduced the first Declutchable Rotor. What this means is that the RM030 is able to prevent overwinding of the movement, whilst allowing the rotor to continue moving to avoid any interference or build up that would affect performance. Once the watch is wound to 50 hours the movement will automatically ‘Declutch’ the rotor to avoid further winding, once the power reserve falls below 40 hours the watch will then re engage the rotor to allow for winding.
